Holiday Baked Brie with Spiced Pear ShrubThis rich appetizer will be the star of your holiday party, pairing beautifully with a dry sparkling wine or our Spiced Pear Shrub Party Pitcher cocktail.
1 4-6 inch round of Brie or Camembert
1 ripe pear 1/4 C. chopped walnuts (or pecans) 2 Tbs. dried cranberries 1 tsp. butter 2 Tbs. Tait Farm Spiced Vanilla Pear Shrub Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. With a very sharp knife, carefully cut the top rind off the cheese (it’s easier if the cheese is cold). Place the cheese, cut side up, in a brie baker or shallow baking dish. Slice or chop the pear. Melt the butter in a small skillet. Add the pear and cranberries and sauté for a few minutes. Add the shrub and the walnuts. Sauté until the pear is tender and the liquid has slightly thickened. Mound the mixture over the cheese. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese begins to soften. Serve with a sliced baguette or crackers. Note: The recipe is easily doubled for a larger Brie. |
