Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Tait Farm Fruit Spreads
This is not your grandmother’s grilled cheese sandwich! Try adding a fruit spread to your favorite cheese, and experience a whole new level of deliciousness. Here are a few of our favorite combinations:
Sour Cherry Jam - brie
Apricot Orange Marmalade – havarti cheese, ham
Blackberry Jam – aged swiss cheese, cooked bacon
Cranberry Orange Conserve – havarti or fontina cheese, roast turkey
Strawberry Jam or Strawberry Rhubarb Conserve – pepper jack cheese
Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Using your favorite rustic bread, slather with the fruit spread on one side, add any other ingredients, top with cheese (sliced or grated), add the second piece of bread, and place in the skillet. Fry until lightly golden brown on one side, then flip and do the same on the other.
